China warrior, meet at the top. On November 27th, Warrior 917 successfully climbed the world’s highest sand peak in Kumukuri Desert, setting the world record to 4,772 meters, becoming the first production car in the world to climb the world’s highest sand peak.
Start, sprint, climb to the top, climb over … … At the moment when "smooth landing, safe people and cars" came from the other end of Sha Feng, Warrior 917 successfully challenged the highest sand peak in the world. The final elevation of the crossing point of Warrior 917 was 4,772 meters, which was measured by the field staff. A new world record was born, which belongs to Warrior 917, and even more to China Auto!
Warrior 917 successfully climbed to the top, which is also the first time for global production vehicles, new energy vehicles and electric off-road vehicles to climb to the top. This is another new cross-country pioneering work of Warrior 917 after Tengger Desert initiated the direct pull-out of the desert, the continuous pull-out of Bilutu Peak, and the reverse crossing of the Keriya Ancient Road.
A new record was born. Warrior 917 reached the top of the world’s highest sand peak.
Winter is not a suitable time for challenges. In plateau desert, breathing is a burden. The greater difficulty is that the desert at this time is covered with ice and snow, and the low-temperature frozen water becomes ice, covering the surface of the desert, which is extremely hard. However, after the wind blows, fine sand is laid on the mixed layer of ice and sand again, and the terrain adhesion is very poor, and the tires of vehicles are easy to slip, making it extremely difficult and dangerous to drive through.
Kumukuri Desert is northwest — It is long and narrow in the southeast, with an overall elevation of about 3900— 4700 meters, mainly composed of tall pyramid dunes and compound crescent dunes. The average thickness of the desert is 300 meters, and the maximum thickness is over 500 meters. The plateau, the sand sea and the holy lake complement each other here.
As the highest desert in the world, Kumukuri Desert is called "mysterious plateau secret". Here, not only the breathtaking scenery, but also the desolate and deep ravines, the sandy Gobi, the barren desert and the frozen icebergs and snow peaks all year round are great challenges for top explorers, let alone driving there.
Adhering to the brand concept of "Fearless Conquest", two extended versions of Warriors 917, together with the support team, set out from Huatugou, traveled about 200 kilometers in Gobi, 60 kilometers in desert and many mixed terrain sections, before reaching the campsite more than 10 kilometers away from the highest sand peak. Power supply for temporary campsite, 4 tents, 1 kitchen, 2 bedrooms and storage workshop is provided by 2 917s with 6kW external discharge capacity. At night, the temperature outside the tent is MINUS 20 degrees, but the temperature inside the tent reaches 15 degrees.
The change of terrain, the rise of altitude and the test of low oxygen and cold are extremely harsh challenges to people and cars. The higher you go, the more difficulties you have to overcome. Many times, Warrior 917 needs to take turns to overcome the test of sand, frozen sand and floating sand. The adhesion of the wheels is extremely low, and every step up is not easy for people and cars.
After two days in the desert, I finally found the highest Sha Feng. On-site measurement shows that the slope at the top of the sand peak exceeds 100%, and there is a drop of nearly 100 meters between the highest point of Sha Feng and the vertical height of the safety platforms on both sides of the slope, so it will be dangerous if you are not careful. In the end, Warrior 917′ s powerful power, excellent full-time four-wheel drive system and precise torque control strategy, together with Dakar driver and desert cross-country racer "desert prince" Hu Hongde’s rich desert driving experience and skills, successfully reached the top of the world’s highest sand peak. A new record was born, and Warrior became the first production car in the world to reach the top of Sha Feng, the highest altitude in the world.
Hardcore Extreme Technology Warrior 917′ s successful challenge.
Warrior 917, as the first model of Warrior Intelligent Off-road Architecture M TECH, realizes the integration and innovation of Warrior Military Vehicle Off-road Technology and Intelligent Electric Technology. With super platform, super power and super off-road, we successfully broke through the upper limit of hard-core off-road ability. The extreme technology of hardcore is the basis for Warrior 917 to successfully challenge the world’s highest sand peak.
Fast sand walking, slow water walking, grasping and walking are compulsory courses for desert cross-country. It is precisely because of the fluidity of sand that the acquisition of grip is very important. Warrior 917 adopts the innovative and developed central virtual differential lock to realize off-road full-time four-wheel drive control, which can intelligently estimate the best grip and correct the front and rear axle movement pace in real time; The powerful IBC hydraulic brake by wire provides efficient and high-performance electronic slip limit; The enhanced R-EPS steering design ensures that the Warrior 917 can still obtain sufficient steering assistance performance in the downhill scene with 100% slope; The air suspension adjustment with a stroke of 150mm can effectively improve the passability of the vehicle, and the CDC shock absorber with adjustable continuous damping can quickly converge the excessive movement of the vehicle body under the bumpy road surface, so that the Warrior 917 can always find its own rhythm when climbing in the desert.
More importantly, the preparation made by Warrior 917 for challenging this kind of difficult terrain is also full, which is the sand pattern experienced by Warrior’s all-terrain system M ATS in Alashan. In this mode, the acceleration characteristics of the Warrior 917 are adjusted more positively and linearly, and the driving speed in desert can be better adjusted by the accelerator pedal.
Especially when driving in the desert, the typical wheels have great lateral driving resistance, and the steering wheel is more difficult to turn, which reduces the steering agility of the vehicle. For this reason, the Warrior 917 adopts the advanced rear-wheel steer-by-wire technology to achieve the world’s largest steering angle of 10.6 degrees, bringing the smallest turning radius of 5.1 meters, effectively improving the agility of the vehicle in the crossing scene, and at the same time, relieving the steering system from being tired and reducing its load: at low speed, the rear-axle steer-by-wire steering sets a faster reverse deflection rate. At high speed, it is more stable in the same direction, improving stability.
It has many innovative features, such as zero-delay torque response adjustment, more scene-based torque distribution strategy, highly sensitive central virtual differential lock, enhanced three-electricity and thermal management performance, more robust vehicle motion control, and "super crab walk" function only open in sand mode, which can effectively reduce the transient yaw of the vehicle, thus reducing the rollover probability and helping the 917 to pull out the sand sea directly.
Previously, Brave Warrior 917 directly pulled out the Tengger Desert sinkhole, continuously pulled out the Bilutu Peak, and wore the Keriya Ancient Road for the first time in the world, which has established the irreplaceable pioneer position of Brave Warrior in the field of electric off-road in China, and even subverted the traditional off-road cognition. This time, climbing to the top of desert in the world for the first time will undoubtedly push the truly visible upper limit of electric off-road capability and groundbreaking record to a new high, and at the same time, it will also raise the ceiling of the challenge of desert off-road climbing to a new level.
