2025 Lynk & Co 08 EM-P, four new configurations, 7 series aluminum alloy anti-collision beam

The 2025 EM-P is an annual facelift model. There is no obvious change in the design of the exterior and interior. It continues the design language, but some configurations have been adjusted, including four main configurations such as ambient lights. As a model based on the CMA Evo architecture, what are the differences between the frame and the CMA model? How practical is the 2025 Lynk & Co 08? Let’s analyze it in detail.

Lynk & Co launched the CMA architecture in 2016, which is the product of Geely’s cooperation with Volvo. Its first model focuses on positive development and has high standards in terms of safety. Over time, the automotive market has officially entered the era dominated by new energy vehicles. Lynk & Co improved the CMA and launched the CMA Evo, and Lynk & Co 08 is also the first model of the CMA Evo architecture. The Evo focuses more on safety. The entire structure was redesigned, including the installation of batteries. It is not a simple modification.

Previously, models based on the CMA architecture placed the battery in the central channel, but when it came to the CMA Evo, it was necessary to use tiled batteries to increase the capacity of the battery, which was no different from pure electric cars. In order to reduce the impact of side impact on the battery, Lynk & Co 08 used a "CBS" threshold honeycomb filling block to form a stable structural filling cavity to absorb more side impact energy. This is also a common design in racing cars, including A-pillar, B-pillar, etc. using thermoformed steel, and the stringer also adopts a progressive energy absorption structure design to prevent cabin deformation through a multi-channel force transmission path.

The front anti-collision beam is made of 7-series aluminum alloy, with a Japanese-shaped section, which has a higher bearing capacity than the traditional mouth-shaped one. The energy-absorbing box is 6-series aluminum, with a length of 288mm. Its cross-section is six rectangles, and the crushing deformation has also been optimized through many simulations. The energy-absorbing effect is better than that of traditional steel. The rear anti-collision beam is a roll-pressed closed Lu-shaped section, made of 980MPa high-strength steel. The rear energy-absorbing box is not as long as the front, but the length still reaches 190mm. The rear longitudinal beam adopts TWB laser welding technology, and the proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy in the whole body-in-white reaches 75%, ensuring the torsional stiffness of the frame.

In the design of the suspension, Lynk & Co 08 uses a front McPherson + rear multi-link fully independent suspension, E-shaped four-link suspension is more common, and there is no bright spot in the application. The control arm of the front McPherson suspension is a double-layer stamped steel plate, the four-link is also a stamped steel plate, and the horn is aluminum alloy, which is not outstanding at this price. Due to the increased weight of the hybrid model, compared to the CMA architecture, the Evo version of the sub-frame is added with four-point bearings, and the structure is modified to avoid flat-panel batteries.

The practicality of the 2025 Lynk & Co 08 EM-P

Lynk 08 adopts Lynk E-Motive plug-in hybrid system, equipped with a hybrid dedicated 1.5T engine, and a 3-speed DHT Pro gearbox. The front is a dual motor unit (P1 + P3). The high-end model has a P4 rear axle motor, forming a comprehensive power of 436kW, a peak torque of 905Nm, and a 100-kilometer acceleration time of 4.6 seconds. Depending on the model, the front-drive version provides 21.2-degree and 39.8-degree lithium battery packs. The WLTC pure electric cruising range is between 102km-205km. When fully charged, the standard model’s comprehensive cruising range can reach 1200km, and the long-range version can reach 1400km.

The length of the Lynk & Co 08 is 4820mm, the wheelbase is 2848mm, and it is positioned as a large five-seat medium-sized SUV. The size of the 2025 model has not changed. The cockpit has a built-in 12.3-inch LCD meter + 15.4-inch central control screen, and uses Meizu’s LYNK Flyme Auto car system. Driven by the domestic 7-nanometer chip Eagle One, its NPU computing power is 16tops, similar to Qualcomm’s 8155.


Through Meizu’s Flyme Link interconnection, the car and machine are easier to use, but the disadvantage is that the adaptability to other mobile phone brands is average. The high-end model has a 1600w Harmanka 23 speaker stereo. The 2025 model has obvious changes when listening to songs, adding the rhythm function of ambient lights, and the lights change with the rhythm of music. In terms of smart driving, Lynk & Co 08 is equipped with the Sky Dome Pro intelligent driving computing platform, integrated with two black sesame intelligent Huashan A1000 chips, with a computing power of 116 TOPS. With high-precision maps, intelligent driving can be realized on high speed. It can change lanes and go up and down ramps independently within 0-150km/h. However, due to the lack of hardware such as lidar, smart driving in urban areas cannot be achieved at present. This is also where Lynk & Co needs to be upgraded in the future. Xiaomi 45W charger charges iPhone 8 Plus

  Before the National Day holiday, the charging head network has conducted a series of tests on the charging performance of iPhone 8 plus, including the compatibility of various USB PD chargers and the full charging monitoring of Apple’s original 29W. Through the test, we found that when charging with Apple’s 29W charger, the speed is indeed much higher than that of the previous generation, especially in the 1 hour before charging, the power growth rate will be significantly different.

  However, due to the high price of Apple’s original accessories, many small partners generally turn their attention to the CDQ02ZM charger produced by Xiaomi. After all, in the previous test, this USB PD charger also showed good compatibility with iPhone 8 plus, and the price of 99 yuan is also very conscientious. So, today, I will also test the actual charging speed of Xiaomi 45W USB PD charger, as well as the temperature change of the mobile phone during the charging process.

  Let’s first understand the parameters and performance of the charger. This USB PD charger was launched around April this year. It is one of the earlier and more classic USB PD chargers, and its price is close to the people, which makes it popular. As a USB PD charger, Xiaomi CDQ02ZM has an output capacity of 45W, and the voltage covers five voltage output gears of 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V, and 20V. It has a wide range of performance.

  When using the Xiaomi 45W USB PD charger to charge the iPhone 8 plus, the tool used is still POWER-Z KM001 and the corresponding computer software.

  The voltage and current curve this time is different from the last Apple 29W. The charging process of Xiaomi 45W charger to iPhone 8 plus can be roughly divided into three stages. In the early stage of charging, handshake the USB PD protocol and output at 9V for about 65min; then the voltage is reduced to 5V output, and continue to charge at 5V/1A for about 10min; finally, as the power of the mobile phone increases, the charging current gradually decreases until the end of charging.

  Before the phone was turned on, it was charged with 5V/1A trickle for about 2 minutes, and the charging power was only one-third of Apple’s 29W during the same period. After the phone was turned on, the charging power reached 15W, and the peak power could reach 20W. For the later constant voltage charging process, the test also lasted for a full hour.

  The curve of the battery percentage of the mobile phone is basically consistent with the test results of Apple’s 29W charger. Charge to 46% in 30min; when charging for 65min, the battery is about 79%. After that, the USB PD protocol ends and enters the 5V charging mode; the battery is about 93% in 90min; it takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge the phone.

  Compared with the Apple 29W, although this test uses a completely different charger, the overall charging time of the mobile phone is not much different under the premise of the USB PD protocol, and the charging speed will vary in some specific time periods; the remaining power of the mobile phone is one of the determinants of charging power.

  The whole test process is carried out in an environment at room temperature of 28 ° C. The above are the initial charging, charging 30min, charging 45min, and charging 60min are the thermal imaging images of the back cover of the mobile phone. Compared with the Apple 29W charger, when using the Xiaomi 45W charger, the heat generation of the iPhone 8 plus is slightly lower, which is related to the output voltage of the two chargers.

  In the above test items, Xiaomi 45W USB PD charger has shown good performance. Compared with the last Apple original 29W test results, Xiaomi’s charger is too good. And in the ranks of the few big-name USB PD chargers on the market, Xiaomi’s price is quite eye-catching. So, if you are a iPhone 8 plus user, what will you choose?
