Premiere! Breaking Through, a domestic film, cheers for the Winter Olympic athletes.


Special feature of 1905 film network The China delegation set a new record with 9 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. On February 22nd, a film based on the real experience of China’s first gold medal winner in the Winter Olympics 20 years ago was premiered in Beijing. Wang Jiequn, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Propaganda Department and director of the film, Jia Yumei, member of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the Propaganda Department, delivered speeches, and Cao Yin, director of the program center of the film channel, and Tang Ke, deputy director, and other leaders attended. Jiang Xiaoyu, the chief planner of the film Breaking Through, Wang Zhebin, the chief producer, the director and starring actor, and other creative artists also appeared in the post-screening meeting to share the creative details with the audience.



At the scene, Breaking Through made the first announcement to land in the cinema on February 25th. The producer also sent his blessing to the film through the VCR. He said that the film has experienced many hardships and twists and turns along the way, and the whole work shows the sportsmanship that young people in contemporary China need and yearn for. I hope Breaking Through can continue to inspire more people after the Winter Olympics.

Wang Zhebin, the chief producer, and Fangfang Wang, the director, recalled Breaking Through’s four-year creative process with great emotion. Affected by the epidemic, the filming of the film is more difficult than before. At the premiere, they also thanked the producer’s film channel for its strong support and the creators’ dedication.



Xia Yu, who plays the coach in Breaking Through, is also a veteran ice and snow sports enthusiast in his life. In 2003, he began to try snowboarding. Later, he went to the scene to pay close attention to the related competitions of the China delegation in the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 and the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014.


At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Xia Yu was very happy to see more and more athletes enjoying the happiness brought by ice and snow sports while achieving good results. It is also a great honor for him to cheer for the Beijing Winter Olympics in another way through Breaking Through.


At the end of the premiere, Yang Yang, the first gold medalist in China Winter Olympics, also interacted with the audience by video. The Breaking Through crew will also shoot the props used — — China’s first replica of the Winter Olympics gold medal was presented to china national film museum for collection.



On February 25th, Breaking Through will officially land in the cinema.
